We have an excellent understanding of how intelligent and self-learning automated systems provide a better experience for road users in Malaysia.

Our expertise focuses on integrating multiple sensors, such as:

  • Remote sensing using Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR)
  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader
  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera

Using input data retrieved from these sensors, data processing is carried out using machine learning algorithms in real-time. Such intelligent systems allows decision making to be done locally with minimal latencies, eliminating the need to transmit data to a cloud server.

Simply put, using our technology, our clients will benefit from:

  1. Enhanced data privacy and security
  2. User friendly, due to reduced latency time
  3. Minimal manual data processing, as our systems process data autonomously

Smooth and seamless highway tolling experience

Our current project is undertaking Multi-Lane and Single Lane Free Flow (MLFF/SLFF) system integration. It is a system that allows free-flow high-speed tolling for all highway users.

MLFF automatically determines the necessary information to allow automatic vehicle type classification and fare charging, guaranteeing the free flow of traveling vehicles on the toll road.

Advantages of MLFF/SLFF:

  • Reduced travel time
  • Reduced labour costs (by elimination of manual toll collection)
  • Reduced infrastructure and operational costs
  • Minimal maintenance

Our expertise

Within the scope of MLFF/SLFF systems, RTES Technologies provides technical expertise regarding:

  • Automated Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
Technology that uses optical character recognition on images to recognise vehicle plate number at speeds of up to 150km/h.
    • Can be used in car park management, traffic management, tolling management, speed detection and enforcement, monitoring vehicle movement.
    • Benefits include: Enhanced security and safety, 24/7 operation systems, and Real time monitoring
  • Automatic Vehicle Classification (AVC)
System that automatically detects and classifies any vehicle passing through toll lanes by determining number of wheels and axle, vehicle colour, vehicle feature and shape, and wording pattern on vehicle body. From that, data is processed by embedded controller to decide vehicle class.
    • Can be used in car park management, tolling management
    • Benefits include: Very high accuracy (>95%), Independent and stand-alone system, easy installation
